Weight Training/Bodybuilding progress pictures I started doing weight training at the beginning of November '04. I decided to try to log my progress with pictures instead of obsessing with measurements and sizes. I'm not particularly interested in statistics other than my weight (as this is a fair guide to how much muscle I might be putting on) - a visual effect is what I'm after, along with the increase in strength. The images below show how my physique has changed since summer
2004.
These first images were taken in summer '04 - they are rather
horrible quality as they came from video
February '05 - at this point I had been doing weight training 3 times a week (full body workout each time). I'd begun at the end of October '04
Around April '05, I started changing my routine, breaking it down into arms/legs days and chest/torso days, alternating each routine on the days I trained.
Sticking to the alternating routine above, bulking up a little more. At this point I'd gone up in weight to close to 11st.
Similar routine as above, but with the addition of front press
(for shoulders) along with increasing weight on wide-spaced dips. I've started
cutting a little of the fat and getting more definition. Since the end of June
I'd started having a tin of tuna for lunch each day, along with a roll, apple,
banana and a snack - eating the usual rubbish the rest of the time.
Decided it was time to start bulking up now due to the loss of weight (I'd discovered that I've gone below 10 1/2 stone now, and need to increase it). Started having a bowl of oats for breakfast and supper, along with an additional protein/carb shake at about 11am and 3pm. Normally I just take protein only shakes with breakfast and after about 6pm. My weight is slowly going up again now.
I'd somehow managed to lose some weight over christmas, which is a bit odd given that most people tend to end up putting on weight! I decided it was time to start bulking up again.
Effects of bulking up started to show, so I decided that during July I'd start cutting down a bit again.
My weight began to drop, but went down too low, ending up below 66kg which seemed to be the weight that I hovered around. I started another bulking phase towards the autumn.
The bulking seems to be working better this time as I have managed to start eating more - at this point I've reached 71kg.
After bulking up a bit, then cutting down - I started bulking up for a longer period. I managed to hit around 77kg at this point.
I cut back down for a month, but seemed to not be getting enough protein (and seemed to lose some strength gains) - so I'm going to bulk back up now. Unable to weigh myself at the moment as the scales are broken at the gym.
