The green robe (centre row), white monks robe (pictured in bottom left and top centre), mask (bottom left, right and leaves/vines on left) and the costume on the top right were all made by myself. The others were purchased elsewhere. The bottom right picture (My niece, mum and I) has a costume I managed to throw together out of bits of material whilst at a medieval event, after Jamie wanted to join in.
The above pictures, from left to right (first three and fifth taken by members of public): Me standing in the doorway to Jake's Cottage (waiting for some victims for rune readings); Me playing the harp outside the aforementioned building ; Me about to do a reading in the cottage; my friends Marie Elaine, Helen and Sally. They'll probably kill me for putting pictures up like this. Helen, I promise to get a better one of you at the next event!
These pictures are from April/May '07 and show my (uncompleted as of these photos) viking kit that I've made. I'd decided to make the costume for the multiperiod events that Cosmeston sometimes hosts, as it's a little more in-keeping with the rune readings. Most of the material was very cheap (£2/metre) and came from a furnishing fabric supplier. It looks like coarse wool, and still is quite itchy. So far the list of parts goes like this: Ethically sourced (from culls, not fur trappers) coyote fur for shoulder covering. I've also made a Viking A-frame tent, photographs will be uploaded in the future.
