Agate
Associated syllable: Ea-

Creature magic uses this to modify magic related skills such as war magic, item magic, creature magic and life magic, plus alchemy, arcane lore and magic item identification. It can be used to both increase and decrease one's abilities in those fields.



Amber
Associated syllable: Zha-

For Life spells relating to ones vital energies, Health, stamina and mana. Altering regeneration rates and for healing, infusing, draining and converting.



Azurite
Associated syllable: Dy-

Unusable by Isparians. Monsters can use this to convert energies in a target and cleanse themselves of enchantments thrust upon them.



Bloodstone
Associated syllable: Gua-

Creature magic uses this exclusively for modifying the following skills: item identification, person assessment, monster assessment, deception, healing, leadership, lockpicking, loyalty, jumping, running, cooking and fletching. It can be used to both increase and decrease one's abilities in those fields.



Carnelian
Associated syllable: Ha-

Affecting ranged weapons skills, Creature magic can increase ones abilities with the bow, crossbow and thrown weapons.



Haematite
Associated syllable: O-

Creature magic uses this in spells relating to defense such as magic defense, missile defense and melee defense - including armour appraisal. It can be used to both increase and decrease one's abilities in those fields. Also used for cleansing creature spells.



Lapis Lazuli
Associated syllable: Be-

Currently unused in Isparian magics.



Malachite
Associated syllable: Thi-

Item spells pertaining to portals & transport use this, including lifestone recall.



Moonstone
Associated syllable: Ca-

Creature spells that affect ones strength, quickness, focus and other vital capacities use this powdered gem.



Onyx
Associated syllable: Qua-

War magic produces blasts, streams & bolts. Life magic creates protections and and vulnerabilities. Item magic affects the properties of armours with this.



Quartz
Associated syllable: Lu-

Creature magic modifies ones close-combat weaponry skills, including weapon appraisal.



Turquoise
Associated syllable: Ae-

Item enchantments excluding those which affect armour are cast using turquoise.



Brimstone
Also known as sulphur

Associated syllable: -feth

Acid attacks in war, lightning protections and vulnerabilities on people when used in Life, or armours when used in Item magic. Health to Mana conversions, Missile defense, spear, crossbow & cooking can all be affected by Brimstone.



Cadmia
The name Cadmia formerly applied to the mineral Calamine. Cadmia is an oxide of the metal zinc.

Associated syllable: -ja

Mana to Stamina conversions, creature magic, arcane lore, item identification, weapon identification & quickness are all affected by Cadmia.



Cinnabar
An ore of mercury, mercury sulfide to be precise. Often used as a pigment.

Associated syllable: -vik

Rejuvenation rates and stamina levels, cold protections and vulnerabilities on both people and armours, item appraisal difficulty, unarmed combat, life magic, loyalty & coordination are all affected by Cinnabar.



Cobalt
A dark blue pigment consisting of some salt of cobalt, as the phosphate, ignited with alumina. Cobalt is a hard, brittle metallic element, found associated with nickel, silver, lead, copper, and iron ores and resembling nickel and iron in appearance.

Associated syllable: -sith

War lightning attacks, armours & imperilments upon people and armours, Stamina to Health conversions, recalling to sanctuary, mana conversion, jump and self are all affected by Cobalt.



Colcothar
A brownish-red ferric oxide obtained as a residue after heating ferrous sulfate, used in glass polishing and as a pigment.

Associated syllable: -paj

Frost attacks, health related spells, magic defense levels, item magic, monster assessment are governed by Colcothar in spells.



Gypsum
A widespread colorless, white, or yellowish mineral, used as lime in fields and as the base for many types of plaster. It is a sulphate of lime (calcium) and sometimes appears in the form of Selenite, which is a transparent, crystalline variety.

Associated syllable: -loi

Acid protections and vulnerabilities upon people and armours, mana related spells, portal tie, recall & summon, armour identification and deception are affected by Gypsum.



Quicksilver
Alchemical name for mercury, a metal that looks silvery, yet is liquid at room temperature. For this reason it is very dangerous, as the fumes produced by it when it is mildly heated can be easily inhaled, and are difficult to expel from the body.

Associated syllable: -ril

Piercing protections and vulnerabilities on people and armours, Stamina to Mana, damage levels on weapons, swordsmanship, lockpicking and focus are covered by Quicksilver.



Realgar
Arsenic sulphide, a mineral of a brilliant red color; red orpiment. Also used in Tanning (the procedure for curing leather)

Associated syllable: -zael

Force attacks, Mana to Health, strength, melee defense, dagger & person assessment are affected by spells using Realgar.



Stibnite
A mineral of a lead-gray color and brilliant metallic luster, occurring in prismatic crystals; sulphide of antimony, also called antimony glance.

Associated syllable: -tak

Fire protections and vulnerabilities on people and armours, weapon speed, axe skill, bow skill, leadership and alchemy can be improved or weakened by the use of Stibnite.



Turpeth
A heavy yellow powder, which consists of a basic mercuric sulphate.

Associated syllable: -guz

Flame attacks, blade protections and vulnerabilities upon people and armours, defense properties of weapons, lifestone recalling, staff skill and healing abilities fall under the effects of Turpeth.



Verdigris
A green patina or crust of copper sulfate or copper chloride formed on copper, brass, and bronze exposed to air or seawater for long periods of time. Looks similar to copper oxide, which is however, malachite.

Associated syllable: -ti

Blade attacks, Health to Stamina, lock's resistance or yielding to picking, thrown weaponry skill, war magic & running speed can be changed using Verdigris.



Vitriol
A sulphate of any one of certain metals, as copper, iron, zinc, cobalt. So called on account of the glassy appearance or luster. Sulphuric acid, called also oil of vitriol. So called because first made by the distillation of green vitriol.

Associated syllable: -reth

Shock attack, bludgeoning protections and vulnerabilities upon people and armours, accuracy of a weapon, macing ability, magic item assessment, endurance & fletching ability can all be changed using Vitriol.
