doubt you are wondering what these writings are all about? Then
I shall explain.
Over a year ago, several people left Earthsea, in search of new
horizons. Some landed on the shores of Ispar, others passed even
further to other lands far beyond the horizons. A few of our number
that happened upon Ispar, got caught up in the phenomenon of the
portals that appeared and whisked many Isparians away to the lands
of Dereth.
Many of us brought our knowledge of herbs, magic and other lore
with us, though we were to learn that our magic did not work in
the same way in these new lands. However, many of the plants that
were prevalent in Earthsea also exist in Ispar - so I have taken
it upon myself to catalogue the major plants and trees of Ispar
and Dereth, along with their associated plant-lore.
Due
to the nature of much of the plant-lore, many of the place names
have been changed to match local Isparian origins, where I could
not find any references "in the field" of Dereth or Ispar
I have turned to historical references.
